I Can Dream, Can't I?

There was once a man who lived here in the Americas, over 2000 years ago. He had a dream. Here are some of his very words: "O that I were an angel, and could have the wish of mine heart, that I might go forth and speak with the trump of God that people should repent and come unto God, that there might not be more sorrow upon all the face of the earth."

My dream is similar but mostly focused on an age-group that intrigues us all--teen-agers. I spent ten years pouring my heart out to God that he might help me write, I'll Point to Heaven." He did help me and here is my dream.

Speak to teens world-wide, and let them know that . . .

1. They are children of God and he loves them.

2. They can shoulder responsibility and hard work and enjoy fulfillment.

3. There are sources of support, family, friends, teachers, good people . . . me and others.

4. They are loved. They are our future.

5. They can endure hard times.

6. They can study hard and earn a degree.

7. They can fall in love and enjoy true, heart-pounding, endearing, clean romance.

8. They can seek wise council from those who have been there.

9. They can render these three words and see what action ensues . . . I Love You.

10. They can be chaste and bask in the blessings that follow.

11. They can develop courage. ( They CAN make the hard decisions.)

12. They can learn to appreciate all of God's creations.

13. They can experience the power of prayer as their Father in Heaven answers them.

14. They can grow spiritually as they feel God's hand in their lives.

15. They can be grateful, even through trials.

16. They too, can fulfill their dreams.

17. They must not lose hope. There is a way out.

18. They can recognize the folly of wickedness.

19. They must not end their life. They can listen to the still small voice inside.

20. They can change. God helps them change.

21. Happiness is there, they just need to work at it.

22. They can give, serve, and love.

23. Who will be at their eulogy? Many, as they've given, served, and loved.

24. They can let God into their lives.

25. Their life can be wondrous! They can experience a metamorphosis (they can learn and grow,

self-actualize and become a person of great service and influence for good for many people.

I wrote each of these portions of my dream in my novel, "I'll Point to Heaven." How wondrous it would be to speak to these youth, world-wide, that perhaps a difference could be made in their lives. May it come to pass, I hope and I pray.

About Me

Since I was a little boy I loved to write. I had different feelings and questions than my friends--a different outlook on life. I wasn't sure if I was weird or just different. I entered an essay contest at age 10, a nation-wide one, and got second place...read more.
